    Permeable paving solutions

Vodaland’s plastic permeable paving grid system is a perfect solution for projects looking for ground stabilization and aggregate erosion control. These individual grids can be easily connected together to fit an entire yard, and the durable material can withstand heavy duty loads with or without aggregate. The strength and thickness of our permeable paving grid system allow customers to fill with whichever aggregate they prefer most. The permeable paving grid product is a great cost-effective alternative for driveways and parking areas. The permeable paving solution is also perfect for either permanent or temporary applications due to their adaptability and easiness to move.

What aggregates can I use with the grid and is a base required?

Both permeable paving grids can be used with any preferred aggregate. EasyPave grids allow vehicle loads over soil, sod, grass; a feature not often available in Geo Ground Grids or from any competition. It also allows for heavy vehicles, parking lots, commercial solutions, and industrial applications when filled with gravel. HEXpave grids allow for vehicle loads, and can be used with any aggregate or as a grass paver for pedestrian loads.

How do I know how many pavers to order?

Vodaland sells its permeable paving grids in square foot packages of: 20sqft, 50sqft, 100sqft, 300sqft, and 1000sqft. We provide the appropriate number of grids for that size, and you can view the quantity of grids you will receive on each grid’s product page. A grid can be purchased as an individual product by request. The size of each grid can be found in the product specs.

    Do I need anchors?

Anchors are optional for our permeable pavers but provide a lot of benefit. It provides stability to the grid paving and prevents any possibility of shifting over time. We strongly recommend anchors for any project with a slight slope or unstable ground.

    How do permeable pavers work?

Permeable paving grids are a great alternative to the standard asphalt driveway or non-contained gravel road. The purpose of the pavers is to contain your installation material while still allowing for the passage of water. This allows for your gravel roads or lots to stay level, reducing risk of flooding, and eliminating the negatives of a hot pavement surface. The grids are durable with high compressive strength, meaning they can be used in even commercial applications. If you are unsure on if your loads are bearable by the grids, contact a Vodaland representative for compatible vehicle types.

When should you use permeable pavers?

There are a wide range of applications in which permeable paving grids can be used. The most common use is as a residential or commercial solution for flooding caused by impervious surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, etc. The grids will allow the water to pass through unlike asphalt, which rainwater can damage surfaces of. As well, the grids are designed to be ground reinforcement solutions and the compressive strength of the grid expands the compatible vehicle types that can be used on gravel. This is why you see it often used as a solution for highways as their access lanes or curbs.

Both grids serve the same purpose but with different characteristics and limitations. The differences can be found below:

We offer 2 product lines of ground stabilizers that serve primarily the same purpose. Understanding their differences will guide you in choosing the most ideal for your project.

    Height & Load Bearing:

    • Geo Ground Grids are designed with focus on containing the aggregate that is receiving heavy loads and preventing erosion. For this reason, the grids have more height and it's focal point is tensile strength. (Height Options: 2-inch, 4-inch, 8-inch)
    • Permeable Pavers are designed with focus on withstanding the heavy loads themselves, and the aggregate is there just for consistency with the surrounding terrain. For this reason, the pavers are a thicker plastic and require less height. (Height Options: Hex = 1-inch / Easy = 2-inch)

    Compatible Aggregates

    • Geo Ground Grids can use any aggregate for erosion control purposes, but only gravel can be used for vehicle loads or heavier. A gravel base is also required.
    • Permeable Pavers can use any aggregate for any situation, including for vehicle loads. A fine gravel or sand base is optional with the pavers, but is recommended for the most ideal install.

    Installation

    • Geo Ground Grids are best for large-scale projects that have rectangular shapes. The grids cut easy for specific sizes.
    • Permeable Pavers are best for smaller-scale projects that have non-standard shapes. The 3 square foot grids provide easier customizability for your project. Less base, aggregate, and configuration means that these grids are the quickest install of the two.

Permeable pavers are popular choices for patios, sidewalks, landscaping and other surfaces that see a lot of traffic from light to heavy-duty. Depending on the load class, they can also work with residential parking areas, such as driveways, carports and commercial projects.

HEXpave is our lightweight system designed mostly for light and medium applications.

EasyPave is our heavy-duty system designed for heavier loads and tougher terrains.

At Vodaland, our permeable paving grids help reduce runoff and minimize flood risks. The porous design allows water to drain directly into the ground instead of pooling on the surface.

Our collection includes our innovative HEXpave and EasyPave grid systems and anchors, so you have all the tools you need for a successful installation.
