A client contacted us with a common architectural challenge: they had a sprawling, high-end property that required a robust drainage system, but they wanted to avoid the "industrial" look of traditional trench grates. They needed the system to be virtually invisible to protect the aesthetic of their custom stonework.
The solution was our Stainless Steel Slot Drain System.
The Project Challenges
To achieve a seamless finish across this extensive layout, the installation had to overcome several technical hurdles:
- Contoured Channel Sections: The drainage needed to follow the natural, curved lines of the landscaping.
- Precise 90-Degree Turns: Sharp right angles were required to hug the foundation and patio edges perfectly.
- Complex Flow Management: The design required multiple inlet areas and outlet sections to handle heavy volumes of water.
- Custom Slot Caps: The client requested a specific, narrow profile for the visible portion of the drain.
The Vodaland Solution
We worked closely with the project team to address every requirement. The installation utilized our mounting brackets across the entire design, ensuring a perfectly level finish before the concrete and stone were set.
The curves were achieved by utilizing the natural flexibility of our channel connections, allowing for a custom fit without the need for pre-bent sections. For the sharp corners, our pre-fabricated 90-degree turns provided a clean, flush look that maintained the continuous "slot" aesthetic.
By choosing the Slot Drain system, the property gained massive drainage capacity—capable of handling heavy rainfall and runoff—while the only visible element is a sleek, 1/2-inch stainless steel opening that blends perfectly into the paver joints.
Results
The final result is a "hidden" drainage system that protects the foundation and prevents pooling on the hardscaped surfaces, all while maintaining the premium, uninterrupted look of the estate’s design.
