Base trench drain

Vodaland's most popular product line, finding a perfect balance between durability and affordability. The most variety of grates and channel sizes means you'll be able to find the perfect trench drain here for your application. Each unit is a meter length, and mutiple units connect together to match the length you require. Channels are available in plastic, polymer concrete, and fiber concrete.

What is the length of each trench drain?

All Vodaland trench drains are 1-meter (3.28ft) lengths. Trench drains can be connected together for longer runs, and units can be cut to match specific sizing requirements.

What is the dimension referred to in the title of each product?

The dimension shown in the title represents the internal width of the channel, and the same applies to the depth sizes shown for each channel. External dimensions vary for each type of channel, and customers can view external dimensions through the spec drawings provided on each product page.

How do I connect the trench drains together?

We design all of our trench drain channels to be connectable with each other via male-to-female connections. Depending on model, your trench drain may either “click” together, or simply fit together for connection. It is very important that all connections are silicone sealed.

How do I connect piping?

For piping, Vodaland designs our channels with outlets options on the bottom, sides, and ends. These outlets can be attached to 4” Schedule 40 PVC with an adapter we sell separately. If other piping is to be used, we recommend connecting them to the outlets via rubber couplings which are sold externally.

Do these need to be encased in concrete?

Vodaland recommends that all our trench drains be encased in concrete for best reliability. Certain scenarios may not allow for the use of concrete, and in those cases customers may change the recommended installation method at their own discretion.

What is the max/min temperatures that the channels can handle?

Our plastic trench drains are suitable for temperatures between -40 to +45 degrees Celsius, our polymer concrete and fiber concrete can handle -40 to +80. Our installation method accounts for seasonal temperature changes through the use of expansion joints.

Where can I find pre-sloped channels?

Vodaland has just released their new pre-slope polypropylene trench drain system which will allow for 1% pre-slope up to 8m in length. We as well offer our special-order concrete channel drains in 0.5% and 1% pre slope. If you require a pre-slope trench drain floor plan, contact a Vodaland representative for assistance.

Benefits of base system...

All our Base trench drain systems easily connect end-to-end to create a line (linear drainage system). Channels are equipped with built-in 90-degree connections on each side (no need for adapters). This allows you to build a more complex system than just a single line. Our Base plastic channels have no internal slope, but if you would like a sloped system, then we offer a cascade installation method. With this method, you simply drop down the depth level when connecting channels. The polymer concrete and fiber concrete channels have no slope, 1% slope, and 0.5% slope available. Sloped systems allow water to move faster. Due to multiple grating options, you can choose the proper load class for your system—from pedestrian use to light commercial vehicle loads (A, B, and C classes).

Outlet connection options...

All of our plastic channels have built-in outlet connections on the bottom. Depending on depth of channel, an outlet end cap may be available. All polymer concrete and fiber concrete systems have either an end cap outlet or bottom outlet available. Also, all trench drains have the option to connect to one of our inline sand traps. In this case, you will have even more options to connect your system with PVC through the inline sand trap basin.
