4 inch channel drain
All our 4” trench drain systems easily connect end-to-end to create a line (linear drainage system). Channels are equipped with built-in 90-degree connections on each side (no need for adapters). This allows you to build a more complex system than just a single line. Multiple grating options and load classes make this system most popular.
What is the length of each trench drain?
All Vodaland trench drains are 1-meter (3.28ft) lengths. Trench drains can be connected together for longer runs, and units can be cut to match specific sizing requirements.
Is the 4” width an internal or external dimension?
The 4” category and all other width categories represent the internal width of channel, and the same applies to the depth sizes shown for each channel. External dimensions vary for each type of channel, and customers can view external dimensions through the spec drawings provided on each product page.
How do I connect the trench drains together?
We design all of our trench drain channels to be connectable with each other via male-to-female connections. Depending on model, your trench drain may either “click” together, or simply fit together for connection. It is very important that all connections are silicone sealed.
How do I connect piping?
For piping, Vodaland designs our channels with outlets options on the bottom, sides, and ends. These outlets can be attached to 4” Schedule 40 PVC with an adapter we sell separately. If other piping is to be used, we recommend connecting them to the outlets via rubber couplings which are sold externally.
Do these need to be encased in concrete?
Vodaland recommends that all our trench drains be encased in concrete for best reliability. Certain scenarios may not allow for the use of concrete, and in those cases customers may change the recommended installation method at their own discretion.
What is the max/min temperatures that the plastic channel can handle?
Our plastic trench drains are suitable for temperatures between -40 to +45 degrees Celsius. Our installation method accounts for seasonal temperature changes through the use of expansion joints.
Do your trench drain channels have slope?
Our trench drain channels are neutral, meaning no slope. For most small-to-medium scale projects, slope isn’t fully necessary. For those who require a slope, you can create a cascade system of multiple channel depths to create an artificial slope for your run.
Available load classes for our 4" Base plastic trench drain:
Load Class A - pedestrian foot traffic
Load Class B - Residential vehicle traffic (no parking) and yard equipment
Load Class C - Commercial vehicle traffic, residential vehicle parking, buses, and medium duty commercial equipment.

Benefits of 4 inch system...
All our 4” trench drain systems easily connect end-to-end to create a line (linear drainage system). Channels are equipped with built-in 90-degree connections on each side (no need for adapters). This allows you to build a more complex system than just a single line. Our 4” basic channels are normally 0 elevated (no slope), but if you would like a sloped system, then we offer a cascade installation method. With this method, you simply drop down the depth level when connecting channels. You can drop down from 2” to 3” to 4” to 6” to 8” depths. Sloped systems allow water to move faster. Due to multiple grating options, you can choose the proper load class for your system—from pedestrian use to extremely heavy-duty loads (A, B, C, D and E classes).
Outlet connection options...
All of our channels have built-in outlet connections. A 2” depth channel has a 2” connection on the bottom of the channel. A 3” depth channel has a 4” outlet connection on the bottom. Our 4”, 6”, and 8” depth channels have 4” outlet connections on the bottom, 3” outlet connections on each side of the channel, and a 3” outlet connection of the end cap. Also, our 4” trench drain systems can connect to our inline 4” sand trap basins. In this case, you will have even more options to connect your system with PVC through the inline sand trap basin.

Let's figure out how many channels you need.
Lets figure out the sq ft of your project.
Remember to round up for the sq ft packages. We recommend purchasing 10% overage of your square footage to ensure dimensions are matched.
