Our Deck Trench Drain is designed specifically for applications where depth is limited but performance can’t be compromised. Ideal for decks, rooftops, balconies, and other shallow installations, this system provides efficient surface drainage in tight spaces.
Manufactured from high-grade stainless steel, it offers excellent resistance to chemicals, acids, and corrosion — making it a durable solution for exposed environments. The perforated stainless steel grates are ADA and heel-proof compliant, ensuring safe pedestrian use while maintaining a sleek, modern appearance.
What is the difference between this system vs our slot drains?
The Deck Trench Drain System features a wider 2-inch profile with a visible, removable decorative grate, making it ideal for high-aesthetic pool decks and patios where easy maintenance is a priority. In contrast to our Slot Drains, they offer a much more discrete opening designed to be nearly invisible within concrete or paver joints while still providing high-capacity drainage. While both are made of Stainless steel, the Deck Trench Drain is primarily rated for pedestrian traffic (Load Class A), while most of our slot drains are capable of handling light residential vehicle loads.
How do I ensure the connections are 100% watertight?
While the channels are joined using our bolted connectors, you must apply a high-quality outdoor silicone sealant within the joints during assembly to ensure a leak-proof seal and works well with Stainless steel. This is especially critical for rooftop and terrace applications where sub-surface moisture protection is a priority.
Is this system suitable for Canadian winters and pool chemicals?
Yes, the 100% Stainless steel construction is highly resistant to corrosion from pool chemicals and salt, and it can withstand extreme Canadian freeze-thaw cycles without cracking. For coastal projects or high-salt environments, we recommend regular rinsing to maintain the "luxurious" finish.
Do I need connectors and mounting brackets?
The connectors and mounting brackets are both necessary to the installation of a mini trench drain system. The connectors are sold separately and must be used to connect channels together. The mounting brackets are also sold separately and are used to support the slot drain while the encasing concrete is poured.
What is the best way to handle corners or outlets?
We offer dedicated closed end caps and vertical outlets that integrate directly with the 2-inch wide channel to transition water to your 2" or 3" PVC piping. For 90-degree turns, contractors typically mitre-cut the channels at 45-degree angles and seal the joint thoroughly with silicone and a connector.
