Garden Drains
Our garden trench drain systems are the premier choice for residential landscaping and DIY backyard drainage projects, designed as highly effective flower bed drainage solutions that offer the perfect balance of aesthetic appeal, cost-effectiveness, and long-term durability. Whether you are managing runoff near a greenhouse or installing a lawn drainage system, our channels connect seamlessly end-to-end to create a clean linear drainage path, with each unit featuring built-in 90-degree connections that allow you to easily navigate around planters, garden corners, or retaining walls without the need for expensive adapters. This versatility makes it simple to design a complex layout that goes far beyond a basic straight line, while a variety of decorative grate options and specific load ratings provide the flexibility to match your outdoor drainage to any garden style, from rustic stone paths to modern minimalist patios, ensuring easy installation and seamless integration for all your home landscaping needs.
How do I connect garden trench drains together?
We design all of our garden channel drains to be easily connectable via male-to-female connections. Depending on the specific model, your trench drain for garden applications may either “click” together or feature a slide-fit connection. To ensure a watertight landscape drainage system, it is vital that all connections are sealed with silicone.
How do I connect piping to my garden drainage system?
For seamless integration with your home’s plumbing, Vodaland designs our channels with outlet options on the bottom, sides, and ends. These outlets can be attached to standard 4” Schedule 40 PVC pipe using an adapter (sold separately). If you are using different garden drainage pipes, we recommend connecting them to the outlets via rubber couplings, which are available at most hardware stores.
Do patio and garden drainage channels need to be encased in concrete?
Vodaland recommends that all channel drains for patios and gardens be encased in concrete for maximum stability and long-term reliability. While some backyard drainage scenarios may not allow for concrete, changing the installation method is at the customer’s discretion; however, concrete provides the best protection against shifting soil.
What are the temperature limits for garden plastic drainage channels?
Our plastic trench drains for backyard and garden use are engineered to withstand extreme weather, withstanding temperatures ranging from -40°C to +45°C. Our recommended installation method accounts for seasonal expansion and contraction through the use of expansion joints, ensuring your garden water management stays intact year-round.
Do your garden trench drain channels come with a slope?
Yes. Our garden drainage systems are available in both no-slope and pre-sloped options. This variety allows you to choose the best residential garden drainage solution based on the natural pitch of your land and your specific surface water management needs.
Why should I install a channel drain for my garden or patio?
Installing a landscape trench drain is the most effective way to protect your property from water damage. Excess runoff from heavy rain can pool in flower beds or against your home’s foundation. Without a dedicated residential garden drainage solution, you risk surface water seeping into patio slabs or basement walls. By installing a trench drain around garden perimeters, you can capture runoff and redirect it safely. We offer a range of styles, including slim garden drains, to ensure your drainage remains functional without compromising your backyard’s aesthetic.
Easy ONE has an internal width of 3 inches, while Easy TWO has an internal width of 4 inches.
