What is ADA & Heel-Proof Compliance?
ADA-compliant grates feature openings no wider than 1/2 inch to ensure wheelchairs and canes can safely cross without getting stuck. Heel-proof grates are even more restrictive, with gaps typically 5/16 inch or smaller to prevent high-heeled shoes from catching. Both standards are essential for maximizing pedestrian safety and accessibility in public spaces.
What length are the grates?
Our grates come in either a 39.3" (1 meter) or 19.6" (0.5 meters) size. Review the specification details to confirm which size is your grate.
What does the titled width refer to?
The width referred to in the title represents the width of the channel that the grate fits in. We design our grates with more width than the fitting channel for additional support. If you want the exact width for the grate, review the specification details.
Can they be used on channels not made by Vodaland?
Our grates are designed to fit within our channels, but it may work on other channels as well. We cannot confirm that it will work for yours, but customers can review the specification details to see if it will fit your channel.

Load Class A - Light duty, pedestrian foot traffic
Load Class B - Medium duty traffic, light vehicles, sidewalks and residential parking
Load Class C - Heavy duty traffic, buses, garages, general commercial applications
We have four options as far as material;
Galvanized Steel - Light traffic such as bicycles, riding lawn mowers, and carts.
Stainless Steel - Can be driven on , cars, trucks, and heavy duty vehicles.
Cast Iron - Heavy duty vehicles, dump trucks, and buses.
Plastic - Can be driven on , cars, trucks, and heavy duty vehicles.
Additional Options - ADA compliant, Heel Proof, and extreme heavy loads.
