Industrial Catch Basins

Control heavy runoff and protect your facility with Vodaland’s Catch Basins, designed for industrial-grade water management. Engineered to collect and redirect large volumes of water, they integrate seamlessly with trench drains, slot drains, and oil/water separators for a complete drainage network. Built from durable, high-strength materials, our basins withstand heavy loads, chemical exposure, and demanding conditions. Easy to install and maintain, Vodaland provides reliable solutions trusted by engineers and facility managers nationwide.

What are industrial catch basins made of?

Our basins are manufactured from high-density Polypropylene (PP) plastic, engineered for superior structural integrity and chemical resistance. This material is specifically chosen to withstand the harsh environments of warehouses and factories, including exposure to industrial cleaners, oils, and chemical spills. Internal baskets are available in reinforced PPE or galvanized steel to manage heavy sediment and industrial debris.

What load class is required for industrial floors?

Industrial settings demand the highest durability. For areas with constant forklift traffic, reach trucks, or heavy transport vehicles, we recommend a minimum of C-Class (25 tons). Standard residential grates will fail under these point loads. To ensure your facility remains compliant and safe, consult our load class specifications here:

How does the stackable basin system work for deep-slab installs?

Many industrial facilities require deep drainage lines to clear thick concrete slabs or existing underground infrastructure. Our stackable basin system allows you to reach these depths easily. Units are stacked vertically, with the floor of the upper unit removed to create a high-capacity sump chamber. For industrial applications, we mandate a professional-grade sealant between units to prevent any sub-slab leaching or structural erosion.

How do I maintain and clean basins in a high-traffic facility?

Maintenance is designed to be fast to minimize operational downtime. Simply pull the heavy-duty grate and empty the internal debris basket, which captures metal shavings, pallet wood, and plastic wrap before they clog your main lines. For facilities dealing with fine industrial dust or sludge, we recommend a scheduled vacuum extraction of the bottom sediment to maintain maximum flow rates.

Where are industrial catch basins typically installed?

These basins are essential in loading docks, manufacturing floors, chemical storage areas, and large-scale distribution centers. They are strategically placed to manage wash-down water, capture accidental spills, or handle massive stormwater runoff from expansive warehouse rooflines. In these settings, they act as the first line of defense for your facility's plumbing and environmental compliance.

Load Class A - Light duty, pedestrian foot traffic

Load Class B - Medium duty traffic, light vehicles, sidewalks and residential parking

Load Class C - Heavy duty traffic, buses, garages, general commercial applications

Load Class D - Heavy duty trucks, gas stations, forklifts, highways

Load Class E - Extra heavy duty, hard tire forklifts, industrial areas, storage terminals

Load Class F - Special duty, airport runways, structures with extreme loads

We have four options as far as material for the gratings;

Plastic - This will be for your home / garden area with no loads of heavy value going over it at all.

Galvanized Steel - Light traffic such as bicycles, riding lawn mowers, and carts.

Stainless Steel - Can be driven on , cars, trucks, and heavy duty vehicles.

Cast Iron - Heavy duty vehicles, dump trucks, and buses.
