What is the length of each trench drain?

Every Vodaland sport trench drain is 1 meter (3.28 ft) in length. Each football stadium and track and field trench drain can be easily connected together for longer runs. Units can also be cut to match specific sizing requirements, ensuring proper drainage for large surface areas such as playing fields and sports complexes.  

Is the title width an internal or external dimension?

The width categories and all other width categories represent the internal width of the channel, and the same applies to the depth sizes shown for each channel. External dimensions vary for each type of channel, and customers can view external dimensions through the spec drawings provided on each product page. This ensures proper drainage in sports facilities and football stadiums, where precise channel sizing is crucial for effective drainage solutions.

How do I connect the trench drains together?

We design all of our sport trench drain channels to be connectable with each other via male-to-female connections. Depending on the model, your trench drain may either "click" together or simply fit together for connection. It is very important that all connections are silicone sealed to ensure proper drainage for football stadiums, sports complexes, and playing fields. This guarantees an effective drainage solution for large surface areas and track and field applications.

How do I connect piping?

For piping, Vodaland designs our channels with outlet options on the bottom, sides, and ends. These outlets can be attached to 4” Schedule 40 PVC drainage pipes using an adapter we sell separately. If other piping is to be used, we recommend connecting them to the outlets via rubber couplings, which are sold externally. This solution ensures efficient water flow and proper drainage for playing fields, track and field facilities, and other large-scale sports constructions.

Do these need to be encased in concrete?

Vodaland recommends that our recreational trench drainage be encased in concrete for best reliability and performance. In certain scenarios, such as on turf or in areas with high foot traffic, concrete may not be suitable. In those cases, customers may choose an alternative installation method for drainage pipes at their discretion. 

What is the max/min temperatures that the plastic channel can handle?

Our plastic sports edge trench drains are suitable for temperatures between -40 to +45 degrees Celsius. Our installation method accounts for seasonal temperature changes through the use of expansion joints.

Do your trench drain channels have slope?

Our sports complex trench drain channels are neutral, meaning no slope. For most small-to-medium scale projects, slope isn’t fully necessary. However, for larger projects like stadium drainage, where water diversion is critical, you can create a cascade system of multiple channel depths to create an artificial slope for your run.
